Dendritic metal complexes for bioimaging. Recent advances

چکیده

Dendrimers are hyperbranched macromolecules, having a large number of terminal functions, easily accessible and modifiable to afford the desired properties. Metal complexes dendrimers frequently used as catalysts in diverse reactions, but they can be also innovative biological tools. This review focusses on recent advances (last 10 years) dendritic metal for bioimaging, essentially vivo. Three main domains will covered. The first one concerns luminescent optical imaging (OI). second is largest one; it magnetic resonance (MRI) contrast agents, mostly based gadolinium complexes. third last domain radioactive dendrimer single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), positron (PET). Two radionuclides this context, technetium (99mTc) indium (111In). types ligands generally all these two domains, diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA), cyclic analogue, 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetraacetic (DOTA), some their derivatives. These have been many cases vivo cancerous tumors mice or rats.

Recent advances in metal carcinogenicity*

The carcinogenicity of nickel, chromium, arsenic, cobalt, and cadmium compounds has long been recognized. Nevertheless, the mechanisms involved in tumor formation are not well understood. The carcinogenic potential depends on metal species; major determinants are oxidation state and solubility. Two modes of action seem to be predominant: the induction of oxidative DNA damage and the interaction...

Recent Advances in Metal-Free Quinoline Synthesis.

The quinoline ring system is one of the most ubiquitous heterocycles in the fields of medicinal and industrial chemistry, forming the scaffold for compounds of great significance. These include anti-inflammatory and antitumor agents, the antimalarial drugs quinine and chloroquine, and organic light-emitting diodes. Quinolines were first synthesized in 1879, and since then a multitude of synthet...

Recent Advances in Transition Metal-Catalyzed Glycosylation.

Having access to mild and operationally simple techniques for attaining carbohydrate targets will be necessary to facilitate advancement in biological, medicinal, and pharmacological research. Even with the abundance of elegant reports for generating glycosidic linkages, stereoselective construction of α- and β-oligosaccharides and glycoconjugates is by no means trivial. In an era where expande...
